How it works
From the first text to the last check
Most cases settle without a trial. Here is what happens in between, and what you do at each step.
- 01
Step 1: You call or text
Tell Maricela or Efrain what happened. They ask a few questions and tell you, the same day where they can, whether it's a case she takes.
- 02
Step 2: You sign, she starts
If you go ahead, you sign a contingency agreement that sets her share and how case costs are repaid. She writes to every insurer so they deal with her, not you.
- 03
Step 3: You heal, she builds the claim
You keep going to the doctor. She collects the reports, bills, photos and records, and keeps you posted by call or text.
- 04
Step 4: The demand and the offers
When your treatment settles down, she sends the insurer a demand. Offers come back; she explains each one, and you decide.
- 05
Step 5: Settlement, or a lawsuit
Most claims settle. If the insurer won't be fair, she files suit and takes it toward trial. Either way, you get a written breakdown of every dollar.
The fee
What it costs you
Nothing up front. Maricela works on a contingency fee: her fee is a percentage of what she recovers for you, and the percentage is in the agreement you sign before she starts.
Case costs, like filing fees, medical records and expert reports, are separate from the fee. Maricela advances them and they're repaid from the recovery. If there's no recovery, you owe neither the fee nor the costs.
At the end, you get a settlement statement that lists the total, her fee, each cost and each medical bill paid, before any money moves.
First step
Start with a call or a text
Tell her what happened. She'll tell you whether it's a case, and what the next step is.
